Our team has been trekking around the valley check

Our team has been trekking around the valley checking in on vineyards this week! Being the first signs of spring, these baby buds always put a little pep in our step after a long winter of barrel management.

1 - Nic, our cellar manager (front), and Jordan, production winemaker (back), take in the sights of the Hirschy Vineyard.
2 - Daffodil Hill Vineyard is moving past woolly stage into true bud break, even at the top of the vineyard along the shadowy treeline.
3 - Weber Vineyard, where Rob is estimating potential for 2 clusters per shoot, is the furthest along of the vineyards we evaluated.
4 - Hirschy Vineyard is one of the warmest sites we work with, yet is just behind Weber in bud progression.
5, 6, 7 - Lazy River Vineyard sits on quite a slope, as seen in the last photo! Luckily we have some lizard friends keeping an eye on the vines. 🦎
8 - Menefee Vineyard is the highest elevation & coolest site we work with in the Y-C AVA. Consequentially, it was no surprise to us that it is still in early stages of growth.
