Lone Madrone
2007 La Mezcla
Grenache Blanc Blend
Blend of Grenache Blanc, Albarino,
Lone Madrone
(Paso Robles, CA)
--
(Winery Info & All Wines)
Winemaker: Neil Collins
A Spanish influenced blend of Garnaca Blanca (Grenache Blanc) and Albariño, La Mezcla rings bright in the nose with aromas of pear, green apple, lime and straw with a hint of stone fruit. In the mouth, the blend tastes brilliantly balanced with crisp acidity and a rich mid-palate that finishes with a little Grenache Blanc tannin. Try it with oysters, clams, ceviche, or just by itself on a hot day! Dawson Creek Vineyard, El Pomar, Templeton.

Although the Malvasia was picked 2 weeks later than in 2008, the Brix was almost 2 degrees lower, thus creating a 2009 Doña Blanca with lower alcohol and higher acidity than the 2008 vintage. Malv...
