“Semillon is one of the traditional Washington state varieties and has quite a bit of “weight” for a tank fermented wine. This wine delivers aromas and flavors of fig, ripe melon with a hint of spice. We added Sauvignon Blanc for a crisp, refreshing quality and to complement the natural richness of Semillon. Try with Chinese food (not too spicy), I think you’ll be surprised.”

A blend of 90% Semillon from Rosebud and Stillwater vineyards completed with 10% Sauvignon Blanc from Klipsun Vineyard via Mathew’s Cellars. This barrel fermented wine was aged for 9 months in 50 % new oak to form a complex, rich and age worthy wine. The citrus bouquet gives way to a crisp and elegant wine with a slightly buttery aftertaste. This wine pairs well with creamy chicken, fish and poultry dishes accented with lemon and candied ginger. Silver Medal, Seattle Wine Society.
