  • Winemaker: Mark Chargin
  • Barrel aging both French and American oak barrels added notable structure. The wine is rich with dark fruits such as plum and blackberry integrating beautifully with the oak. Hints of leather and velvety texture with a bit of chocolate linger on the smooth finish. Excellent accompaniment for lamb or roast beef. Also pairs well with medium intensity foods like grilled portabellas or lasagna.

  • The 2005 vintage was a challenging one—a late wet spring and a cool summer was saved by a glorious fall. The wines are generally more elegant and fruit-forward with less extraction and tannin structure that most other vintages. The lone exception is this Merlot sourced from Quail Run and Stepping Stone Vineyards. It is fully extracted with ripe flavors of black­berry, currants and dried fruits on a frame of firm tannins.
