The vineyard is on a south slope in Afton, with rich soils and lots of sun. The 2005 vintage was aged in old and new French and American oak barrels for 15 months. The tannins in the Merlot are softened with our Cabernet Franc grapes. Fermented dry, with oak, cherry and spice flavors and aromas. Drink now or age up to five years.
