Viognier presents a beautiful bouquet of green apple, white peach, Meyer lemon, orange zest and honeysuckle. The wine is rich yet structured balanced by a firm acid background. One hundred percent Viognier Harvested September 28th, 2006 from Larner Vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley. Aged for 9 months in a combination of stainless steel and neutral French oak barrels. We prevented malolactic fermentation from finishing in two barrels in order to retain acidity.
Acclaim: 89 points from The Wine Advocate, Robert Parker jr. This excellent York Mountain winery has turned out a mineral-dominated, tropical fruit-scented and flavored, medium-bodied 2007 Viognier Larner Vineyard with superb purity, length, and texture. It should drink well for 1-2 years.
