2007 Marsanne
Appellation: Santa Ynez Valley
Blend of Marsanne, Roussanne,
Qupe
(Los Olivos, CA)
--
(Winery Info & All Wines)
We’ve been making Marsanne since 1987 and have pretty much stayed with the same style… picked at the low end of ripeness while it still has plenty of acidity and refreshingly low alcohol. Marsanne in this style, and this 2007 is a great example, exhibits what I call “wet stone” minerality along with hints of almonds, honey, citrus and flowers.

Marsanne Blend
Blend of Marsanne, Roussanne, Viognier,
Lionheart Wines
(San Francisco, CA)
--
(Winery Info & All Wines)
Winemaker: Leon Glover
This blend of Marsanne (66%), Rousanne (33%), and Viognier (1%) is an elegant, unique, almost "ethereal" wine - a secret to share with intimate friends on a warm summer day. Pronounced aromas of lemon, lime, mineral, white floral, hint of black tea, pear, kiwi, sweet spices and matching flavors with the addition of hazelnut with a creamy texture are layered over a firm acidity core mellowed by barrel aging in nearly neutral French oak for 8 months allowing the flavors to marry and develop enj...

2010 Marsanne
Appellation: Yakima Valley
McCrea Cellars
(Rainier, WA)
--
(Winery Info & All Wines)
Winemaker: Doug McCrea
This is our second varietal bottling of Marsanne, and so far as we know one of only two in the Northwest. The vineyard was planted in 2004 with Beaucastle cuttings sourced from Tablas Creek. The primary purpose was to go into Sirocco Blanc, our Cte du Rhne-style white blend. The wine was fermented in neutral oak barrels to give it texture, but no oak flavor. Known for its golden straw color, melon overtones, full-bodied structure and heavy minerality, Marsanne is often blended, typically with ...

This blend of Marsanne (50%), Roussanne (48%), and Viognier (2%) is a delicate, unique, almost “ethereal” wine – a secret to share with intimate friends on a warm summer day. Aromas of green apple, yellow apple, mineral, white floral, pear, sweet spices and a hint of black tea and matching flavors with the addition of apricot with a creamy texture are layered over a balanced acidity mellowed by barrel aging in nearly neutral French oak for 8 months allowing the flavors to marry and deve...
