Callaghan Vineyards 2004 Caitlin’s Appellation: Sonoita Blend of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Callaghan Vineyards (Elgin, AZ) -- (Winery Info & All Wines) Winemaker: Kent Callaghan 46% Petit Verdot, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc. Refined nose of green herb, black pepper, cinnamon, cola, sausage and an earth component that is unique to Petit Verdot. Tighter than Padres in the mouth, more linear, but this has a core of singular flavor intensity. Built for the cellar, like Padres. An interesting pair to re-consider in a decade. Question?
