Aromas of black cherries, vanilla, cassis, and cedar lead to a ripe, elegant mouthfeel. Intensely flavored and rich, it is meant for long term aging. The silky tannins provide structure for this wine, and should allow it to age for 8 to 10 years.

Appellation: Columbia Valley
Deep, blood red in color, with penetrating aromas of olives, bacon fat, and plums. In the mouth it is dense, powerful, and opulent, with flavors of ripe, juicy red and black fruits, sour cherries, earthy tobacco, a hint of citrus, and minerals.
Acclaim: 93 points Wine Enthusiast Dec 2006"Pure Syrah from a great lineup of vineyards. In this freeze year the Walla Walla vineyard produced no fruit, so winemaker Trey Busch sourced his grapes from an all-star lineup including Lewis, Minick, Portteus and Columbia Crest. Densely packed with mixed purple fruits, it also sports a mix of wet leaf, earth and herb flavors that add texture and beaucoup aroma. Blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot,
The fragrant nose is reminiscent of sweet plums, raspberry tea, molasses, cinnamon, and mocha. The rich, concentrated mouth has flavors of ripe chocolate-covered cherries and blackberries, and finishes with beautifully integrated tannins. It should easily age for ten years, and perhaps longer.
Acclaim: 89 points Steve Tanzers International Wine Cellar Dec 2005"Bright, full ruby-red. Currant, cherry, raspberry, nutty oak and a whiff of tea on the nose. Juicy, firm and penetrating, with distinctly dry flavors of bitter cherry, cherry skin, fresh herbs, licorice and dark chocolate. Showing its cabernet franc side today. This has depth, tannic structure and good tang, especially for a wine with close to 15% alcohol." ST
