In the early 1960's, Sylvester Feichtinger purchased Rancho Robles, now the current home to Sylvester Vineyards & Winery. Originally used for beef cattle and hay production, Rancho Robles became a vineyard in 1982 after the first grapes were planted. After years of selling quality grapes to many of the premium wineries in the area, Sylvester Vineyards & Winery released its first wines in 1990 and instantly won many awards and received much notoriety. Their instant success prompted the building of their modern winery and tasting room, which was finished in time for the 1995 harvest. In addition to its custom crush capability, the winery can produce up to 50,000 cases of wine annually. Great care was taken to utilize the newest technologies while maintaining the ability to produce quality artisan wines that feature the Paso Robles terroir. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Winemaker Jac Jacobs In 1986, Jac took the opportunity to work in Lake County at Konocti Winery as Assistant Winemaker. In January of 1987, with the departure of the existing Winemaker, Jac was promoted to Winemaker. This was a tremendous opportunity to work with 2 of finest winemakers and pioneers in the wine industry, John Parducci and Andre Tchelistcheff. In 1992, wanting to work back in Sonoma County, Jac took the job as Winemaker at Topolos Winery in Forestville. After 12 years at Topolos Winery, the opportunity to work in California’s Central Coast at Sylvester Winery was too good to pass up. In August 2003 Jac started at Sylvester just in time to start harvest. With the help of a very experienced and enthusiastic staff at Sylvester Winery, Jac and his Assistant Winemaker, Mike Barreto have been making some of the finest wines on the Central Coast and beyond. |
