Wellington Vineyards is owned by the father and son team of John and Peter Wellington. John purchased the winery site in 1986. At the time, it consisted of 20 acres of old vines and a few decrepit old fruit and nut trees. Replanting of part of the old vineyard and orchard started in 1988. The winery was completed in time for the 1989 crush. We grow approximately half the grapes we use and purchase the remainder, primarily from small, unique vineyards. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Winemaker Lynda Hanson
|
Lynda Hanson joined our winemaking team in 2002. She brought with her a wealth of experience and knowledge, and a winemaking style that is a perfect fit for our winery. Lynda holds a B.A. in French and English Literature from the University of Colorado, as well as a Master's Degree in Enology from the University of California, Davis. Her winemaking resume includes positions at Schramsberg, Beaulieu, Edna Valley Vineyards, LaCrema and Hartford Court in California, as well as Château Lafite in Bordeaux, France and Tapiz (formerly Mariposa) in Argentina. After extensive travels, Lynda has returned home to Sonoma County where she is busy doing what she loves best ~ creating world-class wines!
