    Brys Estate Vineyard & Winery is a family owned boutique winery concentrating on quality, not quantity. We product about 5,000 cases per year.
    At Brys Estate 85% of our wine is estate grown, while 15% of our grapes are grown on Old Mission Peninsula. All of our grapes are hand picked, fermented, aged, and bottled at our state of the art facility. This gives us great control of the quality of our wine.

    Winemaker Coenraad Stassen
    Coenraad Stassen grew up in the Western Cape, South Africa among the grapevines of the famous Cape Town wine region. His start in winemaking was a temporary position in harvest work in 1995 that quickly turned into a promotion and permanent position in winemaking. At the same time, Coen attended the Elsenburg College in Stellenbosch where he graduated at the top of his class in the Senior Technology program. After eight years honing his winemaking skill in Cape Town, Coenraad joined the international exchange program through Ohio State University in 2003 bringing him to Old Mission Peninsula, the place he now calls home.

    Coenraad joined the Brys team in 2007 after completing his internship and working as a co-winemaker for a neighboring winery, where he assisted in earning 32 medals in his last year, 20 of them Silver or Gold. Coenraad has a strong focus on producing high-quality dry reds and has a crisp, clean approach to producing whites.

  • Blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Pinot Noir,
  • Winemaker: Coenraad Stassen
  • A blend of varietals on the Estate produced this elegant and harmonious red wine. Synergized layers of vanilla, berries, licorice, chocolate, and soft tannins complete this wine. Aged in traditional Bordeaux French oak barrels for 10-13 months. The Winemakers Signature Red has a great aging potential and should be enjoyed on special occasions.

  • Gewurztraminer can be made in two styles, floral or perfumy. This wine is elegantly floral, and one of the best examples ever produced in Michigan. It delights the palate with flavors of litchi, rose petals, orange blossoms, and a touch of spiciness.

  • Traditional ice wine has lower alcohol content, usually between 8-9.5%, and has a greater residual sugar content of between 10-20%. Brys Estate "Dry Ice" has an alcohol content of 13.9% and has a lower residual sugar content - 7% - thus the name "Dry Ice". This wine shows classic varietal character with hints of grapefruit, apricots, pineapple and passion fruit.
