Winemaker Patrick Merry

A native Montanan, winemaker Patrick Merry crafts wines that embody the rugged and pristine terrain he grew up in. "Even an excellent wine should be comfortable and approachable, and maybe just a little rugged around the edges," he smiles. Because wine was a part of his daily life and family table, Patrick strives to craft wines that compliment the everyday experience. "Wine should be a part of life. I want to produce wines that are great with a casual barbeque, for that I would recommend our Twilight Hills Red. Our white wines are elegant enough to be served at a wedding or opened to celebrate a special event. Our Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc are aromatic and crisp, supremely fruity and reflect some of the best varietal characteristics in a Washington white."

Patrick's focus and philosophy follows a "minimalist" approach...work with only premium vineyards and adopt a winemaking style that allows the quality and character of the fruit to shine through.

"Our grapes are hand picked and hand sorted. With gentle crushing, gentle pressing, and minimal filtration, I believe that we create wines that are age-worthy, yet approachable. Through gentle treatment in all phases of the winemaking process, my goal is to craft a wine that you will enjoy time and time again, as well as produce something I am proud to put my family's name on."
