The 2006 Equus Run Merlot has a pleasing red currant berry color and soft nose of thyme and rosemary herbs. On the palate are fruit notes of deep ripe plum and black cherry with an undercurrent of earthy mineral. The tannins from the contact with the skins during fermentation and with the oak during the twelve-month aging period make their presence known.
