Cocetti Wines has been the hard work of David and Pat Cocetti since 1981, and today is a premium Napa Valley and Sonoma wine producer. Cocetti Wines has proudly been producing California Wines for almost 28 years . Cocetti Wines is committed to creating wines that truly reflect the Napa Valley. Cocetti Wines is a boutique winery in that grapes are purchased from the best vineyards in Napa Valley and Sonoma, then custom crushed, fermented in authentic new French Limosin and Nevers oak barrels, aged, and bottled at a contracted facility - Adler Fels. Our wine is under the guidance of Napa's finest wine consultants. The Cocetti wine label is now a stable influance in a very competitive market scoring points in the 90's. The award winning selecions in the Cocetti repertoire today include the 2006 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. First released in 1984. The Cabernet Sauvignon has always been the favorite of those who follow the Cocetti Wine selections. Its distinct aromas of Cassis and black fruit, balanced oak and soft tannins are velvety on the palate with hint of blackberries and espresso -- e molto bene -- bravissimo (it is very good). 2004 vintage is also available. The 2006 Sonoma Zinfandel. First released 2002 , has been received with accolades. It is an intense black cherry in color Zinfandel. It has a bouquet of ripe plum with a hint of caramel. It is jammy and full to the palate, moderate tannins, peppery with a lingering finish. This wine will not disapoint and you can have confidance that you are buying great value. 2004 vintage is also available. The 2007 Napa Chardonnay. First released in 1982 was and is a solid competitor in the Chardonnay market. It has a full golden color with pleasant aroma of honey and apple tart. It has a rich taste to the palate with true Napa flavors, round body and a remarkable finish. 2005 vintage is also available. The 2007 Napa Sauvignon Blanc is a smooth Sauv. A hint of Chardonnay lightens the tart of the Sauvignon grape. It is bright clear golden wheat in color. Well structured with a aroma of pineapple and a hint of peach. Delicate entry and pleasant to the palate, good acidity with a forward finish. 2006 vintage is also available. In 2008 Cocetti wines celebrated there 25th year of business with the release of the Premium Private Reserve 2005 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon and the Premium Private Reserve 2005 Sonoma Zinfandal. These private reserve releases are spetacular in splendor. Sophisticated and classy, the bottles boast a two color slik screen label, Cocetti branded cork and foil top. The Cocetti family comes from a long line of excellant winemakers. David's grandfather and great grandfather made wine in Italy from Lambrusco as well as Sangiovese grapes. Even during the early days in Walsenburg Colorado, where David and Pat were raised, families would receive grapes from California and make wine from the Zindanfel grape. David T. over the years tried his hand at home wine production and even produced a quality wine from Chokecherrys fortified with brandy. It was in the year 1981 that David T. decide to try making commerical wine. With the help of Tom Cottrel and Kerner Roumbauer, David started Cocetti Wines, and began making commerical wines from Napa Valley. With the purchase of 30 tons of Chardonnay and 60 tons of Sauvignon Blanc the Cocetti process of cold inoculation and barrel fermentation was established. What began as a dream in the home of the Cocetti's took shape and a group of private investors collaborated and established Cocetti Wines, LTD, a producer of preimum California wines. A year later, the first grape crop to produce these fine wines was ready for release in October of 1982. It was then that Cocetti Wines came of age. The first vintage, a custom crush Napa Chardonnay and Napa Sauvignon Blanc made their entrance to the market in Colorado. Pat Cocetti established a distributorship to exclusively market Cocetti Wines called Cal-Co Wines. Pat found a niche in a very competitive market with a charming personal touch to her sales and marketing strategy. The next product was a 1986 Napa White Zinfandel which was a delicately sweet masterpiece and a real treat. The eagerly awaited, award winning red wine in the Cocetti repertoire was the 1983 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, first released in 1984. The Cabernet Sauvignon has always been the favorite of those who follow the Cocetti Wine selections. The Brut Champagne was the next product on line in 1988 -- e molto bene -- bravissimo (it is very good). Cocetti Wines newest selection is the 2002 Sonoma Zinfandel. It has been received with accolades. Today the Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel are established connoisseur favorites. Cocetti and art by Linda Laing and features the church in Brandola Italy, where David T's forefathers were born. See the Label page. The Church still stands and is still in operation. Special care was taken in our lable, branded corks, branded caps to insure a classy and stylish display that will complement any table. Our bottles were selected to match the wine region in style and color. |

Winemaker David Cocetti How many of us have wished we could take our dreams and turn them into reality? Centennial Colorado residents David and Pat Cocetti have done just that. They took their dream of manufacturing premium Napa and Sonoma Valley wines and started Cocetti Wines. Now, they are celebrating 28 years of producing those wines.<br><br>For many years, David vinted a homemade wine from Colorado chokecherries and gave it as gifts to family and friends. The mystique of the process soon had Pat and the children, David, Dena and Denise, all involved in crushing, bottle preparations and bottling. Pat had to cope with the musty smells from the basement, but producing homemade wine became a family project. It was a time to learn, discuss and enjoy the process. They learned about the art of wine processing, the history of wine evolution and the wines of the world. <br><br>In 1981, with the help of family and close friends, David decided to produce commercial wines from California's Napa Valley. David met Tom Cottell, who provided valuable information about grape growers, facilities for crushing, bottles, labels, and corks and the BATF approval process. With proper due process of law Cocetti Wines was born and became a negociant of commercial wine from Napa Valley.<br><br>The initial products selected by David were two popular white wines, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The red wine varietal chosen was Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, followed in 2002 by their excellent Sonoma Zinfandel. Both red varietals are aged in French oak casks for a period ranging from 18 to 24 months. <br><br>The distinctive character for Cocetti Wines has always been the label and its meaning. A delicate design with a chapel in the center is dedicated to the family heritage of winemaking. The chapel was built by David's great-grandfather and grandfather in northern Italy. It was there that grandfather and grandmother met. They came to Colorado at the turn of the century to start a new life in the new world. The chapel still stands today and is a functional church to this day. Recently, the entire family of 12 kids and grandchildren, visited this small chapel. Pat and David also renewed their wedding vows there in the Fall of 2006.<br><br>Marketing the wines has always been a special talent of Pat Cocetti. Pat personnlay introduced the Cocetti label to wine buyers, restaurants and wine shops. The Cocetti label has been awarded several medals and has won accolades from wine writers. The Cocettis produce, and will continue to produce, premium wines from California, while remaining Colorado-owned.
