Winemaker Andy Schweiger	We are proud to have Andy Schweiger as our winemaker. Andy attended our alma mater, UC Davis, where he received a degree in Viticulture and Enology. His previous experience includes work at a number of wineries, including Chateau St. Jean, ZD, and Cain. He makes our cabernet (with help but hopefully not interference from us!) in open-top fermenters that are punched down by hand. From these fermenters, the juice flows by gravity into French oak barrels, both new and used. Thanks to Andy's talents and careful attention, we have produced a fabulous cabernet!

Red ------------- ---	2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Appellation: St. Helena Winemaker: Andy Schweiger This elegant, well-balanced Cabernet is showing a lush fruity nose with notes of blackberry, cassis, pomegranate and undertones of cumin and coriander. On the mouth, the wine has a velvety entry with notes of cherry and faint nutmeg and mocha/cocoa flavors and a lingering finish with ripe boysenberry notes. Our wine pairs wonderfully with beef short ribs, a juicy barbequed beef flat iron or roast pork tenderloin. Acclaim: Our 2005 cabernet received a 93 rating from Anthony Dias Blue in his August 2009 issue of The Tasting Panel magazine and Best of Class out of 61 medal winning cabernet sauvignons at the November 2008 American Fine Wine Competition in Boca Raton, Florida. Red ------------- ---	2006 Cabernet Sauvignon, St. Helena Appellation: St. Helena Winemaker: Andy Schweiger Our 2006 cabernet is showing elegant blackberry, currant, blueberry and lush red fruit on the nose with light undertones of nicely integrated toasted oak, vanilla, cumin, and coriander. It has a soft velvet entry on the mouth with a lush, round, full weight mid-pallet followed by balanced tannins on the finish with lingering ripe fruit. Acclaim: Our 2005, 2006 and 2007 vintages - chosen from more than 100 producers - were in a Vintage Perspective Tasting presented to more than 250 media, trade and vintners in February 2010.
