Winemaker Ron Barrett
 Ron, an MSEE, joined the fledgling wine industry in Oregon. He worked for Dick Erath (Erath Vineyards) before purchasing and developing the 40 acre Chehalem Valley Vineyard (which was subsequently sold to Tony Soter, of Etude). Looking for a new challenge, he and his partner, Nancy Bentley, chose a site in southern Ohio with a southeast facing slope, draining to a river, with soil similar to St. Emilion. Two of their wines have been rated in the Top 100 Exciting Wine Finds in the World by Tom Stevenson, British editor of the New Sotheby's Wine Encyclopedia.
