    Winemaker Paul Clifton
    		 Paul Clifton joined the Hahn Estates team in 2003, after finishing a postgraduate degree in Viticulture/Enology in New Zealand. In 1996, he left a career in firefighting to become a winemaker, a hobby of his until then. Paul built a solid foundation in some of the best cellars in the industry. As a native of the Monterey Bay, his passions lie in the beauty of the area, its potential for excellence in winegrowing, and the people he works with. His favorite wine varietal is Pinot Noir.

  • The Hahn Estates 2007 Merlot is a bold wine from the start. A deep and rich violet hue sets the stage for a simple swirl which gives way to the nose of this wine that stays true to the classic Merlot varietal with aromatics of plum, black cherry and blackberry. Deeply complex, with layers of clove and cracked pepper it is soft and juicy in the mouth.
