Winemaker Allen Kreutzer
|
Allen started at Kirigin Cellars in 1984. He is a 25-year veteran of the wine industry, holding a BS in Fermentation Science from UC Davis. Allen completed his MS in Agricultural Chemistry from Fresno State in 1990. Over the years, Allen has worked for a number of wineries either in winemaker positions or as consulting enologist. His own winery, Drytown Cellars, opened in November 2001 in the Sierra foothills of Amador County. In 2007, Allen won the prestigious “Best of Show” award for his Drytown Barbera. In addition to Allen's passion for wine, he has a passion for music. A lifelong drummer, he has play with rhythm and blues band Sharon Allen and The Firebirds, based in Santa Cruz County, for two decades. After all these years of playing, Allen assures us that he must be famous.
