Il Gioiello Winery / Morse Wines
    2004 Syrah View Label
Il Gioiello Winery / Morse Wines (Fiddletown, CA) -- (Winery Info & All Wines)
  • Winemaker: David Fenech
  • The wine has a dense, deep ruby color. The experience begins with warm aromas of leather and cedar. The flavors are bold and earthy, indicative of Sierra Foothill Syrahs. Time and patience will be rewarded with evolving depth, as the meaty, earthy and spicy flavors gain complexity and integrate with the black currant and cherry fruit. Rich finish ending with firm tannins and a smoky aftertaste. This wine can easily be aged until 2012.

    Renaissance Vineyard & Winery
    2005 Syrah
  • Produced Following Biodynamic Practices
  • Organic - Made from 100% Organic Grapes View Label
Renaissance Vineyard & Winery (Oregon House, CA) -- (Winery Info & All Wines)
  • This was a top flight vintage for our Syrah, producing a big, dark wine, with a huge, meaty, sweaty, deeply spicy nose with complex seaweed, violet and ripe blueberry notes. The wine is full bodied, firm and structured on the attack, opening further back on the palate to reveal stunning depth and fruit concentration, and a long, spicy/minerally finish. This is the ultimate companion for roast venison or, in lack thereof, Haute-Provence style lamb stew.
