Our 2009 Aridisol is all Rhone: Syrah, Mourvedre and Durif (also known as Petite Sirah). Bold, deep purple-black in color, the heady blackberry and plum jam notes are layered in chocolate derived from time in northern Minnesota American oak barrels. The spice is light eucalyptus, cinnamon and black licorice with a pinch of tobacco. Aridisol, meaning "desert soils," is a testament to why I love Washington State wines.
