  • The 2007 vintage produced some very concentrated, beautiful wines. This Cabernet Sauvignon is quite dark in color and shows off lush, ripe black cherries, plums, and a brambly wild blackberry fruit character that is distinct to Howell Mountain. The flavors mirror the aromas with pure black velvety fruit character. The wine is dense and concentrated, yet silky with good length. Tannins are lightly dusty.   • Where the 2006 Diamond Mountain is a bit richer than its 2005 counterpart, this bottling is actually a bit pulled back from the previous edition. It still contains all the richer chocolate based elements of the first vintage but it shows a bit more Howell Mountain structure.   • Showcasing the deep fruit character of Cabernet Sauvignon from Howell Mountain, this expressive wine presents elegant layers and refined tannins. On the nose, enticing aromas of blackberry and boysenberry mingle with hints of lilac and earthy spice. In the mouth, a warm, velvety entry flows to lush berry and stone fruits. Riding on a frame of supple tannins, the lengthy finish closes with waves of fruit, mocha and spice.

A long, warm summer followed by a cool September gave the tannins plenty of time to mature by October 2nd when the grapes were picked. The resulting wine is elegant with aromas of Damson and Santa Rosa plums as well as blueberry, sweet cinnamon and clove. With air, lavender and rose petal appear.
