  • The 2005 Vintage is the most dense and full of the four Pentad vintages released to date. It offers a seductive roundness and weight, accenting a warm, ripe tones and expansive fruit characters. Dark ripe plum dominates the nose, interwoven with tropical passion fruit and hints of cassis. Sweet cooking spice and light notes of fennel and violets round out the aroma. I find red and black plum, vanillin, dried herb and light smoky notes by mouth. The structure is broad, balanced, and bright yet ve... ...read more

    Spring Valley Vineyard
2005 Frederick Cabernet Sauvignon Blend View Label
  • Appellation: Walla Walla Valley
  • Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot Spring Valley Vineyard (Walla Walla, WA) -- (Winery Info & All Wines)
  • Winemaker: Serge Laville
  • There is a lot of muscle in this fifth seductive vintage of Frederick. The nose is bright with scents of licorice and blackberry. The mouth feel is huge with a concentration of dark ripe black fruit. As usual, the tannins are richly present with exceptional quality, adding to a lingering, soft finish. This wine is enjoyable now, although I recommend opening the bottle 48 hours in advance to decant, as this wine has a very serious aging potential.

  • with plenty of pure, concentrated blackberry fruit, while floral notes, black flecks of dark chocolate and hints of spice complicate the picture. This is merlot as it should be grown, something more than a simple, soft red. It's bright, less structured and more delicate than cabernet, but just as complex.

    2005 Cock’s Red
  • Appellation: Red Mountain
  • Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec Sea Breeze Farm (Vashon Island, WA) -- (Winery Info & All Wines)
  • Bold and audacious, our classic Sea Breeze Farm blend exhibits typical Bordeaux flavors of chocolate, cherries, spice and vanilla with a bit of blueberry in the background. Meek Vineyards has drastically reduced their yields this year, forcing a concentration of flavors in the grapes which will make the 2005 wines more dense and powerful than ever. “Cock’s Red” shines as the best value in our 2005 Wineshare lineup.
