Don't be fooled by the fun label. This very serious barrel-fermented Lemberger exudes bright cherries softened by partial malolactic fermentation and neutral oak barrel aging. Bordering on dryness this wine has just enough residual sweetness to balance out its racy acids, making it a wonderful choice for many different meals. No longer the red-headed step child, Rose' is finding its rightful place at many a wine connoisseur's table. It pairs nicely with grilled salmon, shrimp, oysters, or BBQ.

From the old block of Baufránkisch (“old vine” Lemberger) from the respectable Red Willow Vineyard, planted in 1979, which was 3 years barrel aged in equal parts French and American oak, 42% new. It shows flavors and aromas of dried cherry, cocoa/mocha and thyme and finishes in toasted vanilla, chalky tannins and generous acids. This could be the ultimate pizza and Italian pasta wine. Will age well as has been typical for Kana’s past “Old Vines” programs.
