This is a lovely medium bodied wine with rich flavors that mingle with earthy aromas.

  • For the most part this is a well balanced fruit driven wine with very broad appeal. I prefer to age Sangiovese in neutral barrels to let the delicate fruit components and vineyard characteristics come forward. Medium bodied with lots of red fruit, a round balanced palate chased with a smooth, supple finish. I really enjoy this wine around a large table of friends and a family style Italian meal, it’s a perfect fit.

  • Sangiovese derives its name from sanguis Jovis meaning "the blood of Jove (Jupiter)." This wine was cooled during fermentation, allowing for extended time to have the grape skins in contact with the juice. Characteristically, this wine has a high acidity and moderate tannins. But because of the fermentation process, there is dark, deep red color and exploding fruit. Just a hint of earthiness. Excellent by itself and with elegant dinners.
